The Executive Team or Board of Management (BoM) is currently made up of international experts, some of who share equity in local training franchises, but all of whom are actively involved in the day to day commercial activities of the Academy.

Geoffrey H J Baring is CEO of the Monash Consulting Group a Melbourne based Training Organisation and a Lead Partner with Universal Labour, a global human resourcing and contracting firm.

He has a background in management consulting, initially at London based Urwick, Orr and Partners and subsequently as the Director of Human Resources Consulting in the international accounting firm, Arthur Young.

During the past thirty years of experience, he had occupied leading positions of increasing responsibilities at US Agency for International Development (USAID), State Department/USA, National Commercial Bank, Bank Al Jazeera, Al Rajhi Banking Company, the Consulting Center for Finance & Investment, Dallah Group & Altawfeek Financial Group. Daud Vicary

Daud Vicary has 16+ years in Management Consulting to the Financial Services Industry (1998 - 2005), preceded by 15 years working for Banks in Operations and control (1973 - 1988). Returned to Banking between 2005 - 2008 in leadership positions in Islamic Banking in Malaysia. Established an Islamic Finance Consultancy (DVA Consulting Sdn Bhd) in November 2008.

Have operated in over 30 countries, and have spent the last 15 years based in Asia. In the last 7 years have focused on Islamic Finance operations.

A frequent commentator and speaker on Islamic Finance, David was appointed to the Board of AAOIFI (Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions) in December 2003 - 2007, and was installed as a Distinguished Fellow of the Islamic Finance and Banking Institute of Malaysia (IBFIM) in July 2007. Appointed a Member of ACIFP (Association of Chartered Islamic Finance Professionals in November 2008.

Michael Preiss

Michael Preiss served as the Chief Investment Officer for EmiratesNBD, and previously as the Associate Director, Investment Advisory Group at HSBC Private Bank, serving clients in the Middle East and South Asia. He now runs the Investment Advisory function for Standard Chartered Private Bank.

Currently running index-linked funds for the Asian and African Capital Markets, Michael is also an advisor on Wealth Management and Private Banking curriculum for the Middle-East and Asia with the International Academy of Financial Management (AAFM). He leads the Capital Markets Curriculum Committee.

Anastasios L Avranas

Anastasios L Avranas has started his professional career in the Asset Management industry serving on various departments within the biggest private company of the field in the Greek market. After that he interrupted his career to offer his services to the Greek Air Force for a period of a year before entering once more the strategy/finance arena. At the beginning of 2007 he has co-founded Optimum Value a multi level services company where he held the position of Financial Services Director. Simultaneously he was nominated local associate to MarketingPro, an Italian multinational engaged with market analysis and research.

2008 brought Anastasios to the helm of Esthlos, a business boutique firm dedicated in providing sophisticated financial services for the Greek corporate public. Through Esthlos , in other words IAFM Greece, he is bringing the latest financial developments to the Greek audience while simultaneously through his position in the Management Team of IAFM is building strategies for the expansion of the International Academy of Financial Management in the European Union.

Steve Wylie

Mr Wylie is a Senior Programme Manager and Management Consultant with over 22 years business experience in managing complex projects and programmes over a variety of industries including Insurance, Banking, Hi-Tech, Property Development, Shipping and Government.

His experience covers Strategic Planning, Project and Programme Management, IT Implementation, Business Development, Process Re-Engineering, Change Management and he is a very accomplished Public Speaker, Trainer and Presenter.    

He has worked with executives and organisations in many countries and managed multi-cultural and multi-lingual teams in Western, Arabic and Asian environments.

He is the co-author and Principal Speaker for the International Academy of Project Management’s (MPM) Master Project Manager and (CIPM) Certified International Project Manager training courses and sits on the Global Executive team for the Academy.

Mr Wylie is also an internationally recognised Insurance Expert and is the co-author of the internationally successful IAFM CGIS (Certified General Insurance Specialist) seminar.

Geoff has experience in managing multi-country teams of marketing personnel, with marketing budgets in excess of US$20m across more than 50 markets simultaneously. Geoff is heavily involved in local business activities as a board member of the British Business Forum, along with a role as Chapter President of the International Academy of Financial Management's Middle-East membership. He regularly teaches the leading finance brands throughout the Gulf region on specialist branding, marketing and customer service topics for the banking and finance sector.

He sits on the academic advisory boards of a number of Australian Colleges and is a member of the Educational Committee of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA). In addition he is responsible for the quality control of all ICMA and IAFM Corporate Finance related courses run in Asia.
